A new Portuguese parliament was established labor lawsThis week’s goal was to provide remote workers with a more balanced work-life.
The new law could lead to employers being penalized for calling employees after work. The increased expense of working remotely, such as electricity or gas, will result in them being forced to make additional payments.
Employers are prohibited from monitoring employees at home. This is another rule.
The country’s Minister of Labor and Social Security says they consider the country to be “one of the best places in the world” for digital nomads and remote workers to live, adding “we want to attract them to Portugal.”
