Thalia, is a singer, actress and Mexican business woman. She began her musical career in the early 80s as the lead singer of a children’s group called Din Din. In 1986, Thalia joined the band Timbiriche, recorded 3 studio albums with the group and separated from them in 1989. In that year, Thalia flew to Los Angeles, California to prepare a solo album.

In 1990, Thalia returned to Mexico and released her first solo album, simply titled “Thalia”, under the seal of the record label Fonovisa, which was followed by “Mundo de Cristal” in 1991 and “Love” in 1992. In 1994, Thalia signed a contract with EMI and in 1995 released the album “En Extasi”, this was the album that made Thalia be known internationally. In 1997, she released the album “Amor a la Mexicana”, in addition to Mexico, this album was also published in several South American countries, Europe and Asia.

In 2000, Thalia released several albums in 2000 “Arrasando” and “Thalia” in 2002. In 2003, she released her first English album, also self-titled “Thalia”. In 2005, she released the album “El Sexto Sentido.” In 2006, Thalia released a version re + load of this album, which was titled “El Sexto Sentido” : Re + Loaded. In 2008, she released the album “Lunada”, however, unlike previous ones, this album proved a resounding failure in terms of sales and for this reason Thalia ended her contract with EMI.

In 2009, Thalia has signed a recording contract with Sony Music and returned to the music scene with the album “Primera Fila,” the first album recorded completely live, getting Platinum disc for sales in Mexico. Thalia has sold more than 25 million records throughout her recording career.

Thalía has also dabbled in acting. In 1986, she had a cameo in a soap opera called “Pobre Senorita Limantour”. In 1987 she co-starred in the telenovela “Quinceañera”, which was considered the most successful of that year. In 1989, she starred in “Luz y Sombr”, which turned out to be very successful. In 1992, she starred in “Maria Mercedes”, the first of the trilogy of the Marias, which in 1994 was followed by Marimar and Maria la del barrio in 1995.

In 1999, she starred in her last telenovela called Rosalind. Thalia became known around the world in soap operas. “Trilogy of the Marys” and Rosalinda were seen by more than one billion people in over 180 countries and were translated to almost any language.
