Blake Holmes continues to change the game – from working with major artists, founding his own record label, and now releasing his latest project the “Time Heals You. Almost” EP.
Music has always been a creative outlet that gives artists the chance to transform hardships into new opportunities. Blake Holmes, a Washington DC native, is one of these individuals. Holmes was an alumnus of the Duke Ellington School of The Arts and would drive for over an hour to the studio each day without any help from his engineer or team. Although he describes the experience as difficult it allowed him to learn every step of the music production process. His perseverance enabled him to perfect the art and craft of mixing, mastering, mastering, and arranging music entirely by himself. This was a remarkable feat in itself and would only be the beginning of his musical journey.
Holmes grew up in a family of entrepreneurs who were masters of their respective fields. He has never stopped dreaming of making quality music his profession. Holmes had the chance to work alongside many well-known recording artists like Eric G, Brandon Broadnax, Wes Felton and Cj Hilton. He has since released three studio albums on Apple Music and Spotify – as well as an impressive resume of singles and features. Outside of his own music, Holmes has written and produced for a number of hip-hop artists and further engineered vocals for R&B and Pop icons. He is credited as executive producer on all of his own albums, as well as albums such as “Dear Karma” by Luvie J, “Rise of A King EP” by Kxng Coco, and “Luv Bomb” by The Luv Theory.
