Chelsea have won again after a 3-1 victory at Stamford Bridge over Southampton.

James Ward-Prowse’s second-half penalty neutralised the Blues’ early advantage but late strikes from Timo Werner and Ben Chilwell ensured three points for the hosts.

The London side lost to Manchester City and Juventus in their previous matches in the Premier League, and Champions League.

They have now climbed to the top of their table with a fantastic victory.

The Pensioners started strongly and were ahead in the ninth when Trevoh Chalobah scored with a brilliant header.

Romelu Lukaku, star forward seemed to have doubled lead, but the offside flag denied the Belgian.

A similar situation happened to Timo Werner whose brilliant finish was chalked off due to Azpilicueta’s foul on Walker-Peters in the build-up.

After the interval, the visitors made a huge comeback with James Ward-Prowse turning around the penalty that was given after Chilwell overtook Tino Livramento.

The midfielder, however, put his side in an awkward position and was sent off for his horrendous tackle on Jorginho.

With the Saints reduced to ten men, Tuchel’s side took their chance and managed to take the lead through Werner.

Chilwell, who had previously conceded a penalty in the first half, made amends by drilling a second goal in the 89th minute. Chelsea won 3-1.
