Origi doubles Liverpool’s lead over Norwich

Liverpool have added a second goal in their Carabao Cup clash with Norwich City through Divock Origi.

Although it would have been expected that Origi would leave Liverpool in the summer, the Belgian player was still a Liverpool player. He started against AC Milan last week in the Champions League.

This evening, Liverpool made the trip to Carrow Road for their second consecutive campaign.

Origi has proved that he is worthy of the lead by scoring in the back of the net to allow the Reds some breathing room.

Origi has been a useful backup striker for Liverpool. Though he’s not of the required quality to start week-in, week-out in attack, there are worse options to have occupying the subs bench.

Klopp can take some encouragement from the fact that Origi and Takumi Minamino, the reserve forward, have scored tonight.

Though the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota are the ones in starting contention, it’s nice for Liverpool to be reminded of their quality in depth.
