Manu Ginobili is considered most important Argentine basketball player of all time. Currently Manu plays for the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA.
Before coming to the NBA, Ginobili played in Argentina and Italian leagues. Kinder Bologna in Italy and won two MVP of the season, the MVP of the Euroleague Final 2001 and the league championships, European and Italian Cup.
San Antonio Spurs selected him in the 57th position in the NBA Draft 1999, debuting in 2002. He soon became one of the key players of the team, getting the NBA championship in his first season, and two more in 2005 and 2007.
Furthermore, in 2005 and 2011 Manu played the All-Star Game and in 2008 was named the NBA Sixth Man of the NBA and included in the third best five in the league, the latter distinction is regained in 2011.
With Argentina, success has been similar. He debuted in 1998 and was part of the team that won the gold medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics, finishing second in the world in 2002 and the bronze medal in Beijing Olympics 2008.
