Lucky 15 Leg 1 – Masekela (Newmarket, 1:50)

Trainer Andrew Balding has had a fantastic season, and Masekela is an improving juvenile stepping up to 1m for the first time in the Group 2 Royal Lodge Stakes at Newmarket. There was much to love about his ability to rally and find more when he was challenged in the Denford Stakes. Masekela won by one head from Bayside Boy, but the runner up has since won the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster.

His Superlative Stakes second at the level on his penultimate run is another key piece of form. Masekela was just able to defeat Native Trial by a mere two-lengths. That one has gone over to Ireland and won the Group 1 Vincent O’Brien National Stakes at the Curragh. Masekela has now won the Group 1 Vincent O’Brien National Stakes at the Curragh. This gives her leading form claims. So odds of 2/1 appeal.

Leg 2 – Sacred Bridge (Newmarket, 2:25)

Unbeaten Juddmonte Farms juvenile filly Sacred Bridge makes her British debut in the 6f Group 1 Middle Park Stakes. This daughter of Bated Breath was trained in Ireland by Ger Lyons and has already passed the grades at home. Sacred Bridge’s debut victory over Agartha in a Naas maiden reads very well. After winning Group 3 and Group 2 contests, the runner-up finished second at the highest level.

Sacred Bridge won a Listed event in Tipperary and a valuable race at Naas. After that, she made the easy transition to Group company at the Curragh in the Round Tower Stakes. Sacred Bridge is a great choice for this level. She can bolt up by nearly four lengths. Odds of 15/8 suggest she can complete a five timer for her handler, who has a great record with British raiders.

Leg 3 – Perfect Power (Newmarket, 3:00)

Prix Morny winner Perfect Power sets a clear and obvious standard on that form and his earlier victory at Royal Ascot for the 6f Group 1 Middle Park Stakes. He is a smart Ardad juvenile colt, trained by Richard Fahey. He is three from four on turf. He jumped up in trip after winning the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes by one head. Go Bears Go came out as the runner up and won in the same Grade in the Railway Stakes at Curragh.

While things didn’t go to plan at Glorious Goodwood, Perfect Power never got a clear run. After his first overseas start at Deauville, he reverted to that form with Asymmetric and won going home. On Thursday, the runner-up finished second in a Group 3 race at Newmarket. Perfect Power looks worth a bet at 15/8 here for even more success.

Leg 4 – Art Power (Curragh, 4:10)

Over in Ireland on Beresford Stakes day at the Curragh, the other Group race is the Renaissance Stakes over 6f. Art Power takes a massive drop in grade over from the UK, so should resume winning ways if running anywhere near his official rating. This four-year-old Dark Angel colt was highly tested by Tim Easterby, who trains him for King Power Racing.

This is Art Power’s easiest assignment since his victory in Ireland last July. He is 3lb and up ahead of the field based on adjusted ratings. This race should be won by repeats of his Diamond Jubilee Stakes third at Royal Ascot and July Cup fourth from Newmarket. Art Power is 5/4 to cash-in on the drop in Group 3 level.
