Aston Villa’s Kortney Hause stun Manchester United with late winner

Manchester United suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat against Aston Villa at Old Trafford after Bruno Fernandes failed to convert his spot-kick in injury time.

After neither team scored a goal in the 88th minutes, the match appeared to be headed for a draw.

This was when Kortney Hause, defender, broke the deadlock with a brilliant near-post header.

However, in a dramatic twist of events, the former Birmingham City player then gave away a penalty by handling Edinson Cavani’s header in extra time.

Although the Red Devils had a great chance to salvage a point, Fernandes scored three points for the visitors.

With this defeat, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have now slipped to fourth in the Premier League table.

This has come at the back of their 1-0 defeat against West Ham on Wednesday when they were knocked out of the Carabao Cup.

Solskjaer must feel under pressure as United have suffered three defeats in four matches.

Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire were both injured during the match at Old Trafford, adding to his problems.

Aston Villa, on the other hand, has won back-toback league titles after suffering a 3-0 defeat by Chelsea earlier in the month.

Their league standing has improved as they currently sit eighth in the table with this win.
