On May 13, 1962, Mother's Day a band name Conjunto Rítmico Juventud was founded, which soon changed its name to Sexteto Juventud. Its structure was Olinto Medina, founder, director and bassist, John Medina, on guitar; Arturo Lopez on vocals, Elio Pacheco, congas, Carlos Croquer, drums, Isaiah, bongo.
In 1963, Pacheco decided to leave the band but before he recommended the bongo player Carlos Quintana Olinto, "Tabaco", as the final official voice of the group that achieved great success.
On February 22, 1967 hits the market the first single on 45 rpm format Sextet with Tabaco as a singer with the issues and Guasanco y Cautivo. Months later, on July 11, comes the first long play (LP) entitled "Guasancó. "
