Sergio Vargas is a political and Dominican merengue who was very popular in the 80s and 90s.
Vargas belongs to the time called The Golden Years of Merengue. He was deputy for Villa Artagracia in the period 2006-2010 by the Dominican Liberation Party.
Sergio Vargas began his career as a Merengue singer in 1980 when he participated in the Voice Festival, sponsored by Channel 9 Santo Domingo, where he finished second.
