Premios de la Calle initiated in 2008 by of Jesus Norzagaray, Osiris and Ricardo Antonio Bobadilla, a couple of young entrepreneurs with extensive experience in the music industry and with a great vision by discovering and supporting independent talent looking for an opportunity.

The main objective of the Premios de la Calle, is to provide a platform to raise awareness of independent or alternative talent that is on the streets in search of a stage to raise awareness of different musical ideas.

The story begins to be when the promoters of this event and an independent band were denied an invitation to attend a highly recognized awards ceremony. Following this incident the young entrepreneurs decided to organize an awards show for "them".

In its first edition in 2009, Premios De La Calle were led by Erika Garza "La Huerquilla" from Univision and Victor Cordero "El paparruch" of Telemundo. It involved the participation of different artists, among them: Los Buitres de Sinaloa, Voz de Mando, El Komander, Compa Chuy, Oliver Ochoa, Carmen Jara, Jesse Morales and La Nueva Rebelion. For many of the involved in initial stages of Premios De La Calle marked a new beginning.

In the second installment of Premios De La Calle, involving artists such as: Julion Alvarez, Tito y su Torbellino, Martin Castillo, Chuy Lizarraga, Bukanans de Culiacan, Los Rieleros del Norte and Noel Torres, among others. The awards were hosted by Jorge Ramos and Yarel Miramontes of MTV Mun2. In 2010 Premios De La Calle, reaffirmed as the main stage to promote independent talent.

It is important to note that in 2010, Premios De La Calle counted with an influx of over 5 thousand people. In addition, more than 100 groups took part in this celebration.

Each year, the organizing committee has gained credibility and popularity. With it, Premios De La Calle has become one of the most important independent awards ceremony in Southern California.

In 2011, Del Record, represented by Luis del Villar joined the organizing committee and his alliance is to strengthen this important event.

For the third edition of Premios De La Calle, expectations are high. Preparations for this musical competition is intense and thorough, but is being carried out with great care. The primary purpose at all times comply with the objectives previously established.
