Jose Ontiveros, better known as "Pepe" was the lead singer and accordionist for the Mexican regional music group, Los Canelos de Durango who sing ballads along with nortena music. Jose Ontiveros and his brother Jesus "Chuy" Ontiveros grew up with a family of musicians, so to them the music lifestyle was something they were well versed at.
Jose and Jesus Ontiveros began like many others who immigrate to the United States looking for a better life which happened to be their case.
