Nina Sky is an American musical duo composed of identical twins Nicole and Natalie Albino.
Their parents moved to New York from Puerto Rico and were divorced when the girls were young. They were born in Queens and raised in the Astoria neighborhood of Queens, New York.
Because their stepfather worked as a DJ, the twins were influenced by different types of music. When they were just 7 years old, they wrote their first song, "sisters", and already wanted to become singers.
Their parents were very supportive of their daughters' ambitions. Nina Sky's stepfather gave them guitar and drum lessons. The sisters wanted to have a proper name, using the first two syllables of their names ("Ni" and "Na") which gave rise to the name of "Nina. " They then added "Sky", which for them represented "the sky is the limit. "
