Natalia Lafourcade is the daughter of Gaston Lafourcade, a Chilean professor at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) and teacher at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Autonomous University of Querétaro. He is also the founder of the Association of Chile organ and harpsichord. María del Carmen Silva Contreras, her mother, is the creator of the Method Macarsi, a simple and straightforward musical education for children, who experimented on his daughter.
