El Movimiento Alterado is a type of hardcore narco corridos which worships the lifestyle and violent actions of organized crime, through various expressions. Its main propaganda vehicle are called "corridos enfermos," which are a kind of evolution of narcocorridos. It is a well-organized industry which makes millions of dollar annually. Their albums are available via the internet or in the same places where artists are giving concerts. If you do a search on YouTube will find a wide repertoire of music videos where armed criminals are accompanied by voluptuous women, luxury SUVs, executions, mansions, jewelry and violence which has built the stereotype of successful offender.
This movement, presumably promoted and financed by organized crime, constitutes an invitation to young people to join the workforce of crime and thus have access to a life of pleasure, violence and domination versus the miserable existence of most of the people poor. Needless to say, none of these videos shows the evil that awaits them. No one set out how it end up in prison, executed or tortured. The videos exalt violence, waste, and the pleasures that alleged criminals or actually live. Sangre de maldito, Carteles Unidos, Sanguinarios del M1, Volando Cabezas are only a few titles which are promoting the movement, reaching several million views on popular video websites.
