Mickey Taveras joined the Music Academy of Fine Arts in Santo Domingo as a small boy. There he studied guitar and chirping among others.
Mickey Taveras rose to prominence in the music scene as a songwriter for stars of the moment such as Wilfrido Vargars, Rubby Perez, Peter Cruz, Luis Ovalle and Jerry Vargas among others. After Sergio Vargas and Garibaldi made one of his songs, "La Ventanita" an international hit, soon there after Taveras launched his solo career.
