Mark Sanchez is a Mexican / American football player, playing as the quarterback position for the New York Jets of the NFL. Mark was selected by the Jets in the 2009 NFL Draft with the fifth overall pick. He played college football for the USC Trojans. Sanchez was born and raised in Southern California. He is of Mexican decent, third generation and is a symbol in the Mexican-American community, and role model for young people. In his only season as starting quarterback at USC, leading the Trojans to a record of 12-1, second in the Coaches Poll, and third in the AP Poll, won the Rose Bowl 2009, being voted most valuable offensive player . Having shown initial interest to remain until his final season at USC, in the end Mark Sanchez decided to declare eligibility for the 2009 NFL draft. |
