Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan is a Mexican folk ensemble of mariachi music created in 1897 by master Gaspar Vargas, and now (2009) is under the artistic output of the master Rubén Fuentes, while the group's musical direction is by Don Jose "Pepe" Martinez. The grouping is conformed of two harps, one vihuela, a guitar, a guitarron, two trumpets and six violins, and the world are attached to the title of The Best Mariachi of the world, the name of master Fuentes, as artistic director of RCA, suggested for the group.
