Luigi Castro was born in San José, Costa Rica, on July 14, 1971. At age 8 he began singing in local church founded by his mother, then became part of the same band with his brothers and cousins. Over time his interest in music grew, and so decided to take classes in percussion, performing as a drummer for several years.
