Luz Elena Ruiz Bejarano, artistically named Lucha Villa was born in Camargo, Chihuahua Mexico on November 30th 1939. She is one of the leading singers in the history of ranchero music. A well known actress and author of the seventies, of great commercial hit in the eighties and the "new Mexican cinema" in the nineties.
"Con La Media Vuelta", her first hit in the early sixties, she would open the door to a prolific recording career and the big screen and television until her forced retirement at the end of last century.
With her beauty, tall, deep voice and distinctive style, "La Grandota Camargo" enshrined as one of the best interpreters of the most representative composers of vernacular music, highlighting the issues of José Alfredo Jiménez (El Rey, Amanecí en tus brazos, Un mundo raro, La mano de Dios, No me amenaces) and Juan Gabriel (a no me interesas, Tú a mí no me hundes, No discutamos, Eres divino), with whom she also forged a close friendship.
