Leonel Gurrola and his brother Almikar which were initially named Las Voces del Racho by Pedro Rivera founder of Cintas Acuario are now known as Los Ases de Sinaloa. Leonel el Ranchero and Almikar el Cazador are also known simply as Leonel y Almikar. They originated from the state of Sinaloa in Mexico which is notorious for singers of the corridos genre. The two sang for quite awhile as a duet but started singing as soloists after a few hits.
Leonel el Ranchero first came out in the early 90's and his brother soon followed. The two appear at El Rodeo Nightclub, Potreros, El Patio and El Parral in Southgate which they use to frequent very often before it was closed.
