|
La Misma Luna is a Mexican film starring Kate del Castillo and Adrian Alonso, which is about the life of undocumented Mexicans living in the United States. It was directed by Patricia Riggen in Mexico.
The film tells the story of Rosario (Kate del Castillo), a mother who emigrated illegally to the United States, and her nine year old son, Carlitos (Adrian Alonso). Rosario and Carlitos have not seen each other in four years, as Carlitos was five when he last seen Rosario. Rosario, who now lives in Los Angeles, California, calls her son (in Mexico), every Sunday. Carlitos lives in a small Mexican town with his ailing grandmother, aunt and oppressive uncle, that will keep him in order to get the money Rosario sends.
