La Banda Algarete was founded in 1993 by its current young singer Ismael Flores Ponce. Their first performances were carried out by all clubs in the area southwest of the island where loyal fans followed them everywhere. In 2000, They recorded their first album titled "Algaretime" which exceed achievement sold 200,000 copies and reaching the privileged positions of the first radio broadcast, covering 4 tracks worldwide. Placing the band as number one and most popular in Puerto Rico.
