Just as Los Relámpagos del Norte defined modern norteño throughout the 1960s, INTOCABLE has set the standard in this heartfelt genre for Generations X and Y. INTOCABLE grew up admiring the music of Los Relámpagos del Norte, the duo consisting of Cornelio Reyna (1940-1997), and Ramón Ayala. Now, INTOCABLE pays tribute to this groundbreaking group with their new album Classic.
Ricky Muñoz, lead singer and accordion player of INTOCABLE, remembers when he saw Ayala, by then a very successful solo artist, in concert for the first time: “I was a kid. It was Easter Sunday and my family took me to see Ramón Ayala. And I said, ‘I’m going to do that…’”
