Gerardo was born on September 5, 1981 in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, since a child he liked to sing, was invited to be part of the parish choir of the church when he was 7. At 18 he enrolled in a radio contest called "Valores Juveniles" and won first place in Mazatlan and also competed with others from Culiacán, Guasave and Los Mochis.
