Jose Avila, better known in the music scene as El Pelon Avila was born in Los Angeles CA on August 3, 1982. Along with his stepmother, they when back to their native town of El Plateado, Zacatecas, Mexico, when he was on 4 years old. This is where Pelon Avila began his interest in music by forming in group with childhood friends.
At age 10 his stepmother Maria De Jesus returns to seek the "American dream" with the thought that he (abandoned by his mother who did not know and later by his father) and his sister Cristina had more opportunities to study and achieve a better future. They settled in the Los Angeles area where they encountered serious difficulties having food on the table and going to school, but in the mind the dream of El Pelon remained firm in wanting to be an artist and to give his stepmother a better life. In 1995 his mother decided to move them to the City of Phoenix.
