Carlos Beltran is an outfielder of the New York Mets in the Major League Baseball. Beltran currently has the highest stolen base percentage (88%) among active players with 250 or more steals (275 with 37 trapped).
In his youth, Beltran excelled in many sports, but volleyball and baseball are his favorites. At the urging of his father, he left volleyball to concentrate on baseball when he was seventeen. After graduating from High School in 1995 , Carlos was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the second round of this year's amateur baseball draft.
